Black Iron Bentley is an amazing young male from a very special pairing that we did in 2023.  He appraised at 93.8% at just 16 months of age, which puts him now in the position of being the highest linear appraised male Boerboel globally for now.  He broke our older male KS Judge’s record which he had held for over 7 years, and it was a bittersweet moment for us!  Time will tell what type of stud dog he is and if he can produce his own quality or better.  His good health scores put him directly into the SABBS Stud register, and his Optimal Selection Genetics testing is clear.

Bentley is a very sweet and loving young male that is still very young in the brain:). While Bentley is a beautiful boy and we are so very proud to have produced him, he still has a lot of developing to do!  In the meantime we will just sit back and continue to let him bake:). Black Iron Tug is at the age where the manly development really starts kicking in😂. He has changed immensely since he was first appraised in Oct, and was awarded Senior Champion Male and Grand Champion Male at the SABBS Show during the Boerboel Expo. 

his fun personality just keeps getting bigger.  I expect he will look like a completely different dog in a year, and I can’t wait to reappraise him:). He is impossible to get good pics of, and what you see in person is much different.  I am super excited to see what this guy can do for our program!!

Enough can’t be said about this young upcoming stud dog.  Not only does he have an amazing temperament with a huge personality, he also passed health testing and is developing into a beautiful young male.  He was SABBS re-appraised at 91.3% at 2 yrs of age. His sire is Outlaw Creed, and his mother is Black Iron Boston (highest appraisal SABBS brindle fml globally).  Boston’s dam is top producing KS Bikkiejoi, so the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.  Bikki also held as the highest appraised female globally for years until her score was beat by Barbarian Athena.  Athena happens to be the mother of Riff’s sire…Outlaw Creed.  Creed’s sire is Black Iron Tucker, and Tucker happens to be from KS Judge x KS Bikkiejoi.  We are excited to watch Riff grow, and we have recently incorporated him into our breeding program this year.  On a side note, this young guy inherited exceptional fertility from his great Grandsire…Klein Sandfontein Judge.  Anyone that breeds Boerboels knows how difficult it is to find stud dogs with consistently high counts and progressive motility.  We had sold Riff as a puppy, and we were fortunate enough to be able to purchase him back at about 10 months.  We have big plans for this amazing guy and could not be more pleased with the absolutely STUNNING pups that he has produced thus far🙏🤞❤️.

Keeper is our top producing KS Judge son, and we are beyond thrilled with what he  has been bringing to the table.  He made the SABBS Stud Register at a very young age, which is obtained by a combination of appraising highly and having good health scores.  He is an extremely athletic and agile male which I feel this breed needs desperately.  He is also very much a real Boerboel, and is a very confident dog that can get serious quickly but yet has a clean switch between drives.  Keeper has been producing some gorgeous and functional dogs for us with beautiful temperaments!  Pictures below are at various ages.

Black Iron Gauge has developed into a gorgeous and very substantial male at 231 lbs with a head the size of a steering wheel. He was 5 yrs old the end of December, and he resides with his mama Debbie who is a dear friend of mine. Our goal is NOT to produce big giant oversized dogs.  It is to produce beautiful functional dogs with phenomenal health and solid temperaments. He has A2:A2 FCI rated hips, and 1:0 elbows, which was a result of an injured toe removal.

There is so much to be said about Klein Sandfontein Judge(now 8.5 yrs old).  Few would argue that this amazing dog has made a positive impact on the Boerboel breed for years to come.  For over 6.5 yrs Judge held the title of Highest SABBS Linear Appraisal score in the world of 93.4% from April 2017 – April 2023, and was later outscored by his great granddaughter, his daughter, and later by our own Black Iron Bentley!  Judge was the highest appraised SABBS linear male globally for 7.5 yrs until Bentley outscored him in 2024.  In September 2018, he also won Senior Champion Male, Grand Champion Male, and Dog of the Day at the 2018 Fall USA SABBS Show during the Boerboel Expo. However, his purpose here is as a farm and family dog and not a show dog.  Judge is my personal protector, and my heart dog❤️.  I imported him over from South Africa as a puppy in 2016, and this dog has held a huge piece of my heart ever since.  My kids refer to him as my favorite child, lol.

He is a large and substantial male at 29.5”, typically weighing in at 195-200 lbs.   He puts a whole new spin on PRESENCE even at his correct age He is a dog that looks right thru you.  He is sound in all public environments, but is by no means a push over.  He takes his job of guarding very seriously as many can attest.  The bone, front and shoulders on this guy can’t be captured in photos.  He is a completely different looking dog in person, and is a very dominant producer of these traits.

In addition to his amazing temperament and structure, Judge has PERFECT health scores which put him straight into the elite SABBS Stud Register at just 14 months of age. He passes on all of these traits to his many offspring.

His first litter hit the ground in July 2017, and we are truly blessed with what he has produced not only for our program, but for the Boerboel breed.  His full impact will be known in the years to come.  He adds significant bone, substance, his signature chest/shoulders/rear end and angulation, as well as his fabulous temperament onto his offspring.  Judge is a fast natural breeder, and unlike many in this breed he has maintained phenomenal fertility and is producing big healthy litters at 8.5 yrs old.  He is a proven producer of very good health scores.  Judge is a dominant producer…regardless of what he is bred too.  Today, you will find him in the pedigrees of many of the top scoring dogs in the breed.  The pictures below reflect him at different stages of development.

Conga came to us from our friends at Peterbuilt Boerboels. They had asked to use our KS Judge on their  female Africa Zimbie, and we happily agreed and took Conga as our pick pup:). Conga’s mother-line brings new bloodlines into our program which crossed well with KS Judge. We are so excited to see what she produces! Conga is a beautiful sweet and calm girl that loves deeply. Black Iron Millie is one of 3 littermate that we retained from our Quovadis Partner in Crime x Black Iron Boston litter.  She is a beautiful brindle female with a beautiful chest and head, and the thick thunder thighs of her mother which are so lacking in the breed today. We can’t wait to watch her mature out over the next few years!  Millie has been fully heath tested, and she SABBS Appraised at 84.3%.  We will reappraise her once mature, and if she breaks 85% she will qualify for the Stud Register due to her health scores!

Black Iron Rizzy is a substantial female from our Dillon x Tally litter!  Her structure is beautiful but not as beautiful as her personality!  Rizzy is a big but exceptionally athletic female that is a phenomenal farm dog.  She gets along well with the other animals and livestock, and she does a very good job at keeping up with energy wise with the best of them😂.  Rizzy was SABBS appraised at 88.3% @ 14 months old, is fully health tested.  With her good health scores this put her into the SABBS Stud Register. We are very excited about what she will do for our breeding program, and she currently has a litter with Black Iron Tug!

Xena is a big, thick and powerful girl with an awesome pedigree, a great temperament and she is very easy in the eyes!  She scored 90.8% when re-appraised in the Fall!  With her good health scores, this puts her smack into the SABBS Stud Register and we couldn’t be happier!  Having nice appraisal scores is one thing, but when you have the health scores to go with it that’s a big deal for us!  We are excited to see what this girl has been producing for our program:)).

Tally is our beautiful Davee daughter out of Black Iron Newton!   She has loads of energy and a big personality just like her mama!  She carries the best of both worlds in her lineage.  Her mother is one of our retired girls…AKC/UKC CH Tigerberg Stentora (whose offspring are frequently seen in the AKC ring).  Her father is Black Iron Newton (aka Jaggernaut) who is from our well known KS Judge x KS Bikkiejoi litter which produced Black Iron Gauge, Black Iron Tucker (sire to Outlaw Drax, Outlaw Butch, etc), Black Iron Addy,  Black Iron Newton, and 8 other amazing Black Iron Boerboels.

She SABBS appraised at 86.9%, which moved her into the elite SABBS Stud Register due to her good health scores!

Zukandi Beau arrived in the USA in the Spring of 2018.  He is the last son of the great Klein Sandfontein Benji, and we have been very blessed to have been given the opportunity to purchase him from Klein Sandfontein, even though he was not available for sale at the time.  Many thanks to Beverli Steenkamp for making this possible!

Beau is the perfect addition to our program for many reasons.  His pedigree contains no Groenberg Rambo.  His Cardiac, Hip and Elbow scores are good along with his appraisal score, which led him directly into the SABBS Stud Registry.  He is a mentally strong male with a very forward and fun temperament, and he is structurally correct. His young offspring in South Africa are quickly making their mark, with the most notable thus far being Klein Sandfontein Nutcracker. Beau now resides with a friend of ours.

There is just too much to say about this girl!  Though she is more massive than I prefer, with bone equivalent to daddy Judge’s and bigger thighs than him, she is quite a sight.  Bindi has developed into the most masculine girl we have owned, and her personality is just as big!  She is now spayed and living the retired life!

This girl will make a significant stamp on the Black Iron breeding program!

We imported Elevation Peanut in 2016 from Elevation Stud in South Africa, where he was previously used as a stud dog. He produced some absolutely GORGEOUS puppies with substance and amazing personalities during his time here at Black Iron.  Peanut had awesome bone and color, and does a wonderful job of stamping his puppies with both.  His bloodlines are somewhat of a rarity here in the US, which makes him a phenomenal outcross for many females.  Peanut met an untimely death as a result of an accident while at another Boerboel kennel.   We were blessed with the ability to freeze off of this guy for future use in our program.

Peanut has a COI of 5.89%, has completed health testing, and his frozen semen is stored here and available for use as outside stud service.
