We are serious advocates of health testing, and you will find that all of our breeding animals have been health tested and at a minimum hold FCI Hip, FCI Elbow, and OFA Cardiac and Patella certifications prior to breeding. While a boerboel may look to be a perfect picture of health, without formal testing there is no way to know “what” you are breeding. We have seen dogs with horrible hips show zero signs of dysplasia due to the muscle mass in the breed. We have seen dogs with sever cardiac issues still be able to chase the 4 wheeler with great stamina and agility. Having said that, just because a dog seems healthy, that does not mean that it should be bred. The examples given above are WHY health testing is so incredibly important to preserve the breed. Genetics testing determines if the dogs are carriers of specific known issues in the breed. Most important of all is temperament and mental health! Without a solid temperament, nothing else matters.
Our passion is genetics, our love is for the dogs, and our goal is to produce puppies of exceptional quality both mentally and physically. We are typically seasonal breeders with 95% of our babies being born in the late Fall/Winter months.
